• Welcome

My name is Karol and I started with DSLR astrophotography in August 2015.
The reason: a few months before, I bought a telescope for observing…
To capture all these little treasures of the sky I use currently the iOptron GEM28 mount,
a modified Canon EOS 70D, a Sky-Watcher Explorer 130PDS telescope and the Lacerta MGEN-II auto guider.
With this setup, I am completely independent of a laptop in the field.
This blog is my personal journal to track (and share) my progress and experiences.

    Clear Skies!

Two nights clear sky in a row, what a luck 😉 I try to repeat all my last years images, now with 650mm focal length…. hopefully the weather will cooperate....

After months finally clear sky 🙂 Great to see the difference between 400mm and 650mm focal length. And my GEM28 worked like a horse! No crashes during the whole session....

Finally cooler and longer nights 🙂 But the session started with a non-responding GEM28 after starting the guiding calibration… so annoying! At least the rest of the night was problem-free… Details...

I think the CLS-CCD does a good job for the Heart Nebula. Especially from my light polluted home. Details...
