This night on Gurnigel at 1600m was spectacular! 15 GB data 🙂
Equipped with a deck chair, full batteries and my new Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L the session could start! With some special guests 😉 Muuuuh…

This time I decided to shot NGC7023 Iris Nebula at 400mm
And the Milky Way
And an ultra wide field of M31 and M33.

Next a few impressions about this wonderful night.

    Can I ask if you use manual polar alignment or use drift alignment or other method. I am also interested in purchasing Star Adventurer with similar setup (Canon 70d, 70-200 f2.8 and 1.4x adaptor). I was thinking of 50mm guide scope with ZWO one colour camera as guider and using PHD with laptop. Do not know how accurate polar alignment can be achieved.

      I use manual polar alignment. If I want be more accurate I wait 20-30 minutes after first polar alignment, then I check if Polaris is still in position and re-align if necessary. MGEN firmware 2.42 comes with a polar alignment function (Scheiner method). I will test it soon.
      A buddy from Astrobin uses PHD guiding for his Star Adventurer. He was able to do 6 minutes exposures at 600mm focal length. See here the result and technical description: http://www.astrobin.com/263490/C/
