I wanted to find out the best f-value for the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 and how far I can go with the exposure time.
My first 2 images taken with this lens at f/2 showed much coma/distortion especially in the corners. Also the CAs were very strong.
So, the CA’s are still visible until f/4.5. At f/5.0 they’re almost gone. Stopped down to f/5.6, and everything is perfect. No distortion, no CA’s and no vignetting.
360 seconds, on every sub pin point stars 🙂 With 50mm I could go much higher… next time 🙂
